In a country where the bicycle once reigned supreme, it is now the electric motor scooter. With silent speeding stealth they inundate the sidewalks, streets, alleys, anywhere a bicycle once went. The pedestrian beware for they seemingly have no rules as to speed, direction of travel or where they may be ridden. Extra scary after dark for they are as invisible as they are silent for the batteries last longer if you do not turn on the lights.
A display of garlic in the Kashgar market.
Hey! It looks like sausage, I love sausage! They sell this everywhere, it must be good. Linda in the corner checking it out and wondering about the safety/sanity of a meal of “Öpke-hésip” Not that I cared, it was obviously sausage Looks like it was stuffed with rice and chili peppers. Even better! That white stuff underneath looks like some sort of yam or sweet potato. I did not need any more convincing. The stuff was just awesome. I even convinced Linda to try it. Later I discovered that the sausage was sheep intestine and the potato like thing was sheep's lung which had been washed out, filled with a rice flour slurry and then steamed to resemble a roasted potato. Yum.
