A typical neighborhood in the section of the old city of Kashgar that was rebuilt after the earthquake. The narrow cobbled street wind between houses with walls made of earth with intricately carved poplar doors. Quite beautiful.

We hired a car for a day and journeyed out to Shiptons Arch. Largest arch in the world, big enough to fit the Empire State Building underneath it with room to spare. Here is our first glimpse of it after a rough 2 mile hike up a narrow boulder filled river washed ravine.
