The Giant Petrel is a formidable opponent for the King Penguin. King Penguins do not nest and the parents will take turns carrying their single egg and chick in an insulative fold of skin for up to 100 days before the chick is able to fend for itself. I do not see an egg or a chick in this photo so apparently there is some sort of other altercation taking place
The ocean and shores of Gold Harbor are teaming with life.
